The YS027 pairs a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement with a synthetic sapphire crystal. Miyota is Citizen’s movement division, and the 8215 is one of the most widely used automatic calibres in the world – which matters, because a common movement is a movement any watchmaker can service.
Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness. The crystal stays clear after years of daily wear instead of collecting the fine scratches that dull an ordinary glass.
A 40.5 mm steel case with a wide 27 mm integrated bracelet gives it a substantial, modern presence on the wrist – 160 g of it.
