About

The name came from my father

He is a watchmaker. So was the family he came from.

Craveiro is the name they carried, and the name that reached me. It is also the name of a plant – the carnation, and the clove tree that shares the word in Portuguese. That is the flower in our mark, cut into facets rather than drawn as a bloom.

Domus Craveri is Latin for the House of Craveri. Latinising a family name is an old habit among makers: Antonio Stradivari signed his violins Antonius Stradivarius, and the world has called them that ever since. It seemed the right way to carry a watchmaking name forward.

What we are, plainly

I am not a watchmaker. I grew up around one, which is a different thing and worth being honest about.

Domus Craveri is a small independent watch shop in Portugal. We do not manufacture. We are not a marketplace, and we are not a brand pretending to be older than it is.

What we do is choose. Out of thousands of watches we could list, we carry five. Each had to earn its place: a sapphire crystal, a solid steel case and bracelet, and a movement worth looking at – automatic where it matters, Japanese meca-quartz where the chronograph deserves it.

Five is not a limitation. It is the point. Anyone can sell you ten thousand watches. Carrying five means someone has already done the sifting.

Why these watches

There is a particular pleasure in a mechanical watch that most people never get to have, because the price of entry is usually absurd. A balance wheel beating under an open dial. A crystal that stays clear after years because it is sapphire and not glass. A case with real weight to it.

None of that requires a five-figure price. It requires someone willing to look carefully at what is actually being made – and honest enough to tell you what it is and what it is not.

So we tell you. Every product page carries the full specification: case size, crystal, movement, water resistance, what is in the box. Where we are not certain of something, we say so rather than round it upward.

How we ship

We hold stock in warehouses inside the European Union and the United States, which is the whole reason this works. Your watch travels within your own region: seven to ten days, tracked, with no customs charge waiting at the door.

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum. No threshold to reach, no surprise at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay.

Who you are writing to

When you email info@domuscraveri.com, it does not reach a ticketing system in another country. It reaches the person who runs this shop.

That has a cost – we are not open at three in the morning. It also means a real question gets a real answer, without four transfers on the way.

Domus Craveri is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with any manufacturer whose products we sell. Full seller identification is set out in our Terms of Service.
